Gulfport was incorporated as a city in 1910. Our diverse population of nearly 13,000 friendly folks walk our tree-lined brick streets occupied by residential areas, beachfront downtown district of eclectic shops and restaurants. The Merchants Association sponsors Art Walks on the first Friday and Art Strolls on the third Saturday of each month. If you like swing dancing don't miss our incredible dance hall, the Casino Ballroom! Theatrical productions are featured at our beautiful Catherine Hickman Theater home to multiple theater companies including the original Gulfport Community Players, Island Community Theatre, and the Salerno Theatre Company. Boaters are thrilled with two marinas, two yacht clubs. Dockside dining is available with a docking pier behind the casino and a short walk to your favorite flavor! Fishing is great off our Gulfport Pier. Pinellas County residents can take advantage of several Institutes of higher education such as The University of South Florida (USF), St. Petersburg College (several campuses) and Eckerd College, to name a few. Gulfport is the proud home to the prestigious Stetson University College of Law and is the Southeast Little League Regional Headquarters. (Playoff tournaments are in August).
